Communiqué
Update of the International Advisory Group Work Plan
In accordance with its Terms of Reference,
the International Advisory Group on the Chad-Cameroon Petroleum Development
and Pipeline Project is conducting a dynamic reflection on the ways and means
to enhance its services as independent
advisors to the Governments of Chad
and Cameroon and the World Bank, and in consequence is updating its Work Plan
for 2003-2006.
An update to the Work Plan is required
in light of the lessons learned from the first phase of the Project as well
as the stakes involved in the next phase of operations with regard to the
economic and environmental well-being of the populations of Chad and Cameroon.
The IAG has prepared an updated provisional
Work Plan which has been sent recently to the Prime Ministers of Chad and
Cameroon and to the President of the World Bank to solicit their views and
observations.
We now wish to proceed in the same
manner with all our interlocutors and other interested parties. The provisional
Work Plan is presently available on our web site www.gic-iag.org, We invite you to send your comments to the
IAG Secretariat by December 31, 2003.
